Coronavirus in Turkey, no cases yet.

No coronavirus patient has been confirmed in Turkey.

Turkey has no coronavirus (COVID-19) case so far. The health authorities in Turkey are still concerned about it. Turkey’s health minister, Fahrettin Koca told reporters in parliament on Wednesday all possible precautions had been taken to prevent the disease from entering the country.

Turkey has decided to temporarily close its border with Iran after a coronavirus outbreak was reported in the neighboring country, the Turkish health minister Fahrettin Koca said on Sunday.

Turkey has taken all kinds of measures against the novel coronavirus known as COVID-19, including disinfection of all customs gates, in collaboration with the health and interior ministries, said the country’s trade minister on Wednesday.

Diagnostic Kit

A diagnostic kit developed by Turkey to identify coronavirus in between 60-75 minutes. The team who developed the kit had focused on cutting down the time needed for diagnosis. The diagnosis time for the previous kit had been between 90 minutes to 120 and the diagnosis kits for coronavirus in Germany, France, and the U.K. do not give results before three hours.

Coronavirus: what you need to know…

It is caused by a member of the coronavirus family that has never been encountered before. Like other coronaviruses, it has come from animals. Many of those initially infected either worked or frequently shopped in the Huanan seafood wholesale market in the center of the Chinese city.

What are the symptoms this coronavirus causes?

The virus can cause pneumonia. Those who have fallen ill are reported to suffer coughs, fever and breathing difficulties. In severe cases, there can be organ failure. As this is viral pneumonia, antibiotics are of no use. The antiviral drugs against the flu will not work. Recovery depends on the strength of the immune system. Many of those who have died were already in poor health.

Is the virus being transmitted from one person to another?

China’s national health commission has confirmed human-to-human transmission, and there have been such transmissions elsewhere.

How to protect yourself from coronavirus

In general, the public should do “what you do every cold and flu season,” said Dr. John Wiesman, the health secretary in Washington state — where the first US case of Wuhan coronavirus was confirmed.

That includes washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

If you’re the one feeling sick, cover your entire mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze. But don’t use your hands. Use either your bent elbow or tissue that you throw away immediately afterward.

WHO also recommends staying at least 3 feet or 1 meter away from anyone who may be infected.
